YES...I only have one photo for this outfit shot! We were in such a hurry, and I just asked my mom if she could take last minute photo for my blog. We were rushing to catch our reservation for dinner because it was my brother's birthday. So sorry if I don't have more images to share with you guys :P

The Peplum Comes and Goes

Detachable Peplum from Veva Deeluxe; Gap tanktop; Primark shorts; from Italy bag; Primark heels

This is a really delayed post. I wore this for an overnight stay at Crowne Plaza. I wanted to keep things casual bus still interesting. So instead of the usual shorts-top combo, I added this detachable peplum from Veva Deeluxe. Yup, you heard me right! It's detachable! I love how it switches up an otherwise ordinary look! They have these in different colors by the way :)

Scarf

Skirt from O Mighty; Basic top; Necklace from Bedazzle Accessories

This outfit was all about having one focal point. After seeing so much print-on-print and after being blinded by one loud color after another, I decided to go back to balance. I guess right now, I'm just a bit tired of having so much going on in one outfit. Yes, it's fun to experiment with those kinds of things every once in a while; but I think when it comes down to it, I still prefer classic looks. I've never really been a fan of going over the top when it came to styling my outfits. 

Don't get me wrong, I still love color. That's why I chose this skirt from O Mighty.com. I love its baroque prints and scarf-like material. Also, I love its color! I paired it with a simple top from my closet and a basic pair of heels. I didn't add too much accessories either. The only other bright hue in this look aside from the skirt, would be my lip color :P

Black Canvas and Golden Accents

Top from Jovonna London; Pink Manila shorts; Parisian pumps

Hey guys! Here's an all black outfit from yours truly. It's been a while since I've gone for a monochrome look, so I paired this black sheer top from Jovonna London with my black harem shorts from Pink Manila. I didn't really know what to wear that day. So like any other person in the same situation, basic black saved the day! :)

As you see, gold accents made this outfit less plain. I'm a fan of black with gold embellishments because they stand out quite well against a dark background. Some prefer black and silver maybe? Or perhaps black and a bright or fluorescent hue? 

 So what do you pair with black? I'd love to know! :)

The Daytime is Getting Shorter

While the rest of the world is experiencing autumn-winter weather, the Philippines is still bright and sunny! In fact, it's been exceptionally hot these past few days. However, daytime is obviously getting shorter. In a few days, I don't think I'll be able to take a decent outfit shot past 5:15 in the evening! Anyway, sorry for my rambling. Just explaining why this blog post has such a title (and why the lighting in these pictures change from one photo to the other :P) 

About the outfit...like I said, here in Manila it's still awfully humid. So I decided to keep things cool with a pair of lace shorts and a breezy buttoned down top. 

Lace shorts have been around for probably a year already, but I've only gotten this pair last week. Why it took me so long? I don't know either! I'm a sucker for lace, and it took me a year to join the trend! These shorts were a steal by the way. For 250 Pesos (something like $6.00), and that great color, I have no right to complain :) 

Anyhoo...I can't stay long. It's the first day of classes tomorrow after my 2-week break. That means, I have a little over 4 hours of sleep (and that I shouldn't be blogging hahaha). So I'll say good night for now guys!
