And so the question for today is: Is my torso really that flat?! :P

No, no...I don't have a new workout regimen. Although I do wish I could have a perpetually flat abdomen, my swimsuit is merely an optical illusion. But seriously, I saw this vintage swimsuit and I had to wear it. I don't think I've ever seen a print like this in stores recently. Perhaps because in some ways, I must admit, it is potentially tacky...but it's my blog, and I can wear what I want! Mehehe :P That's an authentic retro piece right there (it used to be my mom's). Since it was backless, I added my blazer to keep things decent for a casual day. 

I thought I'd complete the look with bright, funky colors, such as this bright yellow pair of jeans. And as if that wasn't it enough, I finished this outfit with shoes that were even a louder shade of yellow. Fluorescent yellow, to be exact! 

Fluorescent yellow shoes? What will these trends come up with next? :P Again, these flats are from Hebe Manila! If you want flats that will make you stand out from the rest, this brand will definitely be a good place to look! Check out their collections HERE!

Me at 23

They say God is in the rain...or that a shower of rain is a shower of blessings. 

For the past 2-3 days, the Philippines has been dealing with a huge amount of rainfall, causing floods in many parts of our country. It's not unusual to experience rain this time of the year, but when it pours this strong, it makes us reminiscent of calamities we have dealt with in the past years. 

However, aside from all that the country's been dealing with, I still managed to celebrate my birthday at home. Yep...today is my birthday! I am now a 23-year old. My celebration was simple, with some of my favorite food and my family with me. Even my older brother, who barely stays 24 hours at home due to hospital duty, had to stay in. He had no way to cross the flooded roads to work anyway. I guess that would be a bright side amidst all of this. Thankfully, the damage is not as bad as our last big storm, "Ondoy." Still, there was damage done nonetheless. 

It's funny because a lot of people who've been greeting me through SMS or Facebook all had "stay safe" at the end of their greetings. Thankfully me and my family are safe at home. To all my Filipino readers, I hope you guys are safe and sound as well. Be sure to check hotlines posted on the internet (especially on Facebook) if you guys are in any sort of trouble. But most importantly, let's just keep praying for safety and try to help in any way we can. 

So today, on my birthday, I won't be having any outfit posts on my blog just yet. (I did post on Lookbook though, because that look is way overdue). If you've read my most recent entry, I was supposed to share with you the surprise I had in store for my blog's birthday. As much as I would want to post it now, my social conscience can't accept it while the rest of the country is dealing with the rain. 

Don't get me wrong, I am still enjoying my birthday. If the rain does shower blessings, I guess I got more than a handful huh? But seriously, let's be strong through this, Philippines! We've worked together through worse times :) 

On a bright note, no birthday is complete without its sweet surprises :)

Happy Birthday, Brewing Happiness :)

Hi guys! My blog is officially 2 years old as of today :) I don't even know how to celebrate since I've been locked up inside my house the whole day. The rain won't even let me buy a celebratory cupcake haha :P It's also the weekend before my Prelims, so I've been confined to my handouts and books. Talk about buzz kill...

Still, I'd like to thank everyone who's supported my blog since 2010. I know I don't get to post as often as I would want, but it's always heart-warming that you guys still read my entries and leave your sweet comments :) I don't want to get all sentimental about my blog, but I never knew that it would be such a big part of who I am. Thank you, blog, for giving me the chance to share my creativity with the rest of the world. 

Anyway, since I have no recent outfits or shoots to compliment this post, this is all I can do for now...

Dress from Romwe; Primark shoes

This was my mod-inspired look for this week! I thought my dress channeled the very chic 60's. I know I'm no Twiggy...but a girl can always try :) I really tried to achieve her doll-like makeup, especially with my eyes. It was my first time to use falsies and I don't even know if I did it right. Still, I like how it turned out :) But if I do this kind of look again, I think I'll try to make my eyes even bigger next time :P 

As for this dress, I think it's just splendid. I didn't bother to add any layers or accessories because it's already cute on its own. The color is lovely, and that mint green color just pops against peach! I got this from Romwe.com by the way. They have new and incredible dresses on their site now, so I suggest you check them out quick! ;)

I think I'll leave it here for today. The next two weeks will be hectic, so expect me to do another disappearing act haha. But I'll try to update you guys as much as I can. Hope you had a great day :)
